Life was in Him,

and that life was the light of men.

Then Jesus spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”

Jesus said, “I came into this world for judgment, in order that those who do not see will see and those who do see will become blind.”

If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin.

Now they have no excuse for their sin.

Then He proceeded to denounce the towns where most of His miracles were done, because they did not repent:

‘We are wiping off as a witness against you even the dust of your town that clings to our feet. Know this for certain: The kingdom of God has come near.’

And that slave who knew his master’s will and didn’t prepare himself or do it will be severely beaten.

Although they know full well God’s just sentence—that those who practice such things deserve to die

—they not only do them, but even applaud

others who practice them.

For to God we are the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.

so that all will be condemned—those who did not believe the truth but enjoyed unrighteousness.

Watch out, brothers, so that there won’t be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart that departs from the living God.
