Every generous act and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights; with Him there is no variation or shadow cast by turning.

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without favoritism and hypocrisy.

He cannot

Jesus answered, “I assure you: Unless someone is born of water and the Spirit,

he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

That light shines in the darkness,
yet the darkness did not overcome it.

He has blinded

their eyes

and hardened their hearts,

so that they would not see with their eyes
or understand with their hearts,
and be converted,

and I would heal them.

Yet to this day the Lord has not given you a mind to understand, eyes to see, or ears to hear.

Hear this,
you foolish and senseless people.
They have eyes, but they don’t see.
They have ears, but they don’t hear.

He answered them, “Because the secrets of the kingdom of heaven have been given for you to know, but it has not been given to them.

And Jesus responded, “Simon son of Jonah,

you are blessed because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father in heaven.

In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ,

who is the image of God.
