He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

What if some did not have faith? Will their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God?

In hope, he believed against hope, so that he became the father of many nations; as he had been told, "So shall your descendants be."

But as surely as God is faithful, our word to you has not been Yes and No.

Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth which leads to godliness,

So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he interposed with an oath,

If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for this is the testimony of God which he has borne witness of his Son.
