A Paralytic Is Healed

⁹ And at once the man was well, and picked up his pallet, and went to walking. Now it was the Sabbath. ¹⁰ So the Jews began to say to the man who had been cured, "It is the Sabbath, and it is against the law for you to carry your pallet." ¹¹ He answered them, "The man who cured me said to me, 'Pick up your pallet and go to walking.'"

And some of the Pharisees said, "Why are you doing what is against the law to do on the Sabbath?"

This is why the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because He persisted in doing such things on the Sabbath.
