Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?

However, many from the crowd believed in Him and said, “When the Messiah comes, He won’t perform more signs than this man has done, will He?”

He first found his own brother Simon and told him, “We have found the Messiah!”

(which means “Anointed One”),

The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah

is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will explain everything to us.”

We have come to believe and know that You are the Holy One of God!”

And they said, “Some say John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

“You aren’t from Galilee too, are you?” they replied. “Investigate and you will see that no prophet arises from Galilee.”

“Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Nathanael asked him.

“Come and see,” Philip answered.

From now on, five in one household will be divided: three against two, and two against three.

Again a division took place among the Jews because of these words.
