John 8:43

Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you are not able to hear my word.

If anyone is willing to do his will, he shall know whether the teaching is from God or whether I speak on my own authority.

I have come in my Father's name, and you do not receive me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.

Many of his disciples, when they heard it, said, "This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?"

They did not understand that he spoke to them of the Father.

Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again:

"You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. You are doing just as your fathers did.

there is no one who understands, no one who seeks for God.

For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so;
