John 8:43

Why do ye not understand My speech? it is because ye cannot hear My word.

If any one wills to do His will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from Myself.

I have come in My Father's name, and ye receive Me not; if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

Many, therefore, of His disciples, having heard this, said, "This is a hard saying! Who can hear it?"

They perceived not that He was speaking to them of the Father.

On this account they could not believe, because Isaiah said again,

Ye stiffnecked, and uncircumcised in heart and ears! ye do always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do ye.

there is none that understands; there is none that seeks after God;

because the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither, indeed, can it be;
