So the captain came to him, and said: Why are you sleeping? Get up and call on your god. Perhaps your god will be concerned about us so that we will not perish.

So they took the bull that was given them, and made it ready. They cried out to Baal from morning till the middle of the day. They said: O Baal, give ear to us. But there was no voice and no answer. They jumped up and down before the altar they had made.

But the rest of the wood they make into gods, carved statues. They bow to them and worship them. They pray to them and say: Rescue us, because you are our gods.

Come here, you refugees from the nations. Ignorant people carry wooden idols and pray to gods that cannot save anyone.

Where are the gods that you made for yourselves? Let them come and rescue you when you have trouble. You have as many gods as you have cities, Judah!

And they do not cry to me from their heart when they wail on their beds. For the sake of grain and new wine they assemble, but they turn away from me.

The violent storm continued. The next day they began to throw some of the ship's cargo overboard.

Delilah lulled Samson to sleep in her lap and called a man, who cut off Samson's seven locks of hair. Then she tormented him, for he had lost his strength.

They all slept, because the bridegroom delayed his arrival.

When he came to the disciples, they were sleeping. He said to Peter: Could you not watch with me one hour?

When he finished his prayer he went to the disciples, and found them sleeping because of their sorrow.
