Go walk through the length and breadth of the land that I am giving to you.

You will write a description of the land [divided] into seven parts, and bring the description to me, that I may cast lots for you here before Jehovah our God.

So Joshua rose up early in the morning, and brought Israel by their tribes; and the tribe of Judah was taken:

Divide this land for an inheritance among the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh.

These are the countries that the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for their inheritance.

This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families: The border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the farthest part of the south coast.

Saul said to Jehovah the God of Israel, give a perfect lot. Jonathan and Samuel were taken, but the people escaped.

They prayed: You O Jehovah, know the hearts of all men. Show us which of these men you choose.

Let us follow after the things that make for peace, and things that are encouraging to one another.
