For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the reed sea before you, when you came out of Egypt, and what you did unto the two kings of the Amorites on the other side Jordan; Sihon, and Og, which ye utterly destroyed.

And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon, king of the Amorites, saying,

When now Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, the LORD carried away the sea with a strong east wind that blew all night, and made the sea dry land and the water divided itself.

The nations heard, and were afraid. Pangs came upon the Philistines.

God, that brought them out of Egypt, is as the strength of an unicorn unto them!

But Sihon, the king of Heshbon, would not let us pass by him; for the LORD thy God had hardened his spirit and made his heart tough because he would deliver him into thy hands as it is come to pass this day.
