And Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.

And he cried to Jehovah. And Jehovah showed him a tree. And when he had cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a decree and a law for them, and there He tested them.

And Jehoiada made a covenant between Jehovah and the king and the people, that they should be the people of Jehovah; also between the king and the people.

And Jehoiada made a covenant between him, and between all the people and between the king, that they should be Jehovah's people.

And because of all this we are cutting a sure covenant, and write it, and our princes, Levites, and priests are sealing it.

And Moses came and told the people all the Words of Jehovah, and all the judgments. And all the people answered with one voice and said, All the words which Jehovah has said, we will do.

And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the ears of the people. And they said, All that Jehovah has said we will do, and be obedient.

Jehovah our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.

These are the words of the covenant which Jehovah commanded Moses to make with the sons of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which He made with them in Horeb.

You stand today, all of you, before Jehovah your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, all the men of Israel,

And Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called for the elders of Israel, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers. And they presented themselves before God.

And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the Law of God, and took a great stone and set it up there under an oak by the sanctuary of Jehovah.

And they entered into a covenant to seek Jehovah, the God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul,

And all Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought Him with their whole desire. And He was found by them, and Jehovah gave them rest all around.

And it is in my heart to make a covenant with Jehovah, the God of Israel, that His fierce wrath may turn away from us.

And the king sent and gathered all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.

And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the temple-slaves, and all those who had separated from the people of the lands to the Law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters (everyone who had knowledge, and who had understanding),
