While he was sleeping from exhaustion, Heber’s wife Jael took a tent peg, grabbed a hammer, and went silently to Sisera. She hammered the peg into his temple and drove it into the ground, and he died.

Ehud reached with his left hand, took the sword from his right thigh, and plunged it into Eglon’s belly.

After Ehud, Shamgar son of Anath became judge. He delivered Israel by striking down 600 Philistines with an oxgoad.

She reached for a tent peg,
her right hand, for a workman’s mallet.
Then she hammered Sisera—
she crushed his head;
she shattered and pierced his temple.

He found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, reached out his hand, took it, and killed 1,000 men with it.

He said to David, “Am I a dog that you come against me with sticks?” Then he cursed David by his gods.

David put his hand in the bag, took out a stone, slung it, and hit the Philistine on his forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the ground.

Rise up, Lord!
Save me, my God!
You strike all my enemies on the cheek;
You break the teeth of the wicked.

For it is written:

I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and I will set aside the understanding of the experts.

Instead, God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong.
