And the next generation, your children who rise up after you, and the foreigner who comes from a far land, will say, when they see the afflictions of that land and the sicknesses with which the LORD has made it sick--

then I will cut off Israel from the land that I have given them, and the house that I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight, and Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

And at this house, which was exalted, everyone passing by will be astonished and say, 'Why has the LORD done thus to this land and to this house?'

beautiful in elevation, is the joy of all the earth, Mount Zion, in the far north, the city of the great King.

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.

Our holy and beautiful house, where our fathers praised you, has been burned by fire, and all our pleasant places have become ruins.
