A Request For Mercy

¹⁴ The old men are no longer seated in the doorway. The music of the young men has come to an end. ¹⁵ The joy of our hearts has ceased;
Our dancing has been turned into mourning.
¹⁶ The crown has been taken from our head. Sorrow is ours, for we are sinners.

Amos 8:10

I will turn your feasts into mourning and all your songs into lamentation (dirges). I will bring sackcloth on all loins and baldness on every head. I will make it as the mourning for an only son like the end of a bitter day.

Psalm 30:11

You turned my mourning into dancing. You loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness.
