And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

These are the names of Aaron's sons, the anointed priests, who were ordained to serve as priests.

Jehovah's anger burned against Uzzah. He struck him down because he had put his hand on the Ark. So he died there before God.

Because you Levites were not there the first time, Jehovah our God struck us. We had not dedicated our lives to serving him in the way he designated.

Hearing these words Ananias fell down and died. Great fear came over all those who heard these things.
