Then he will take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the red cord, and the live bird and dip them in the blood of the bird that was killed and in the fresh water. He will sprinkle the house seven times.

dip a finger in the blood, and sprinkle some of it seven times toward the sacred chest behind the curtain.

He sprinkled the altar seven times. He anointed the altar; it's utensils, the washbasin and its pedestal. This made them holy.

He will take some of the bull's blood and sprinkle it with his finger on the east side of the throne of mercy. Then he will sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times in front of the throne of mercy.

Elisha sent a servant to tell him to wash himself seven times in the Jordan River. He would then be completely cured of his disease.

Wash me thoroughly from my perversity (iniquity) (guilt), and cleanse me from my sin.

This is so he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word.

Pronounce

the priest should examine you again. If he finds that it actually has covered the whole body, he will pronounce you ritually clean. If your whole skin has turned white you are ritually clean.

Let

The goat will take all their sins away to a deserted place. The man must release the goat in the desert.

Seventy weeks (seventy sets of seven time periods) are decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish transgression and to make an end of sin, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy.

You will again have compassion on us. You will tread our iniquities under foot. You will throw all our sins into the depths of the sea.

Otherwise he would have to suffer often from the founding of the world. He has presented himself once at the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
