Every male among the sons of Aaron may eat it. It is a long lasting ordinance throughout your generations, from the offerings by fire to Jehovah. Whoever touches them will become consecrated.'

Jehovah commanded the Israelites to give it to them on the day he anointed them. This is a long lasting law for generations to come.

These regulations are to be observed for a long lasting time to come. This ritual must be performed once a year to purify the people of Israel from all their sins. So Moses did as Jehovah commanded.

The people must stop sacrificing to goat idols (demons) and chasing after them as though they were prostitutes. This is a long lasting law for the people and for future generations.

Do not eat bread, roasted grain, or fresh grain until this same day. Then bring the offering to your God. It is a long lasting law for generations to come wherever you live.

This will be a long lasting law for them. He who sprinkles the water to take away uncleanness must wash his clothes. He who touches this water will be unclean until evening.

Eat neither

The priest will burn them on the altar. It is food, an offering by fire to Jehovah. It is a soothing aroma. All the fat belongs to Jehovah.

He ate cheese from cows and drank milk from sheep and goats. He gave them fat (the best from the flock) from lambs, rams from the stock of Bashan, male goats, and the best wheat. He drank the blood-red wine of grapes.

He said to them: Go away now, and take the fat for your food and the sweet for your drink, and send some to him for whom nothing is made ready. This day is holy to our Lord. Let there be no grief in your hearts. The joy of Jehovah is your strong place.

Blood

Tell the Israelites: 'Never eat any fat from bulls, sheep, or goats.

If Israelites or foreigners eat any blood, I will condemn them and exclude them from the people.

You must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.

Never eat the blood. Pour it on the ground like water.

Do not eat its blood! Pour it out on the ground like water.

They grabbed the food they had captured from the Philistines and started eating. They even killed sheep and cows and calves right on the ground and ate the meat without draining the blood.

Tell them: 'The Lord Jehovah says: You eat meat with blood in it. You look to your idols for help. You murder people. Should the land be given to you?

You brought godless foreigners into my holy place. You dishonored my temple when you offered fat and blood to me. You rejected my promise so that you could do all your disgusting things.

Then Jesus told his disciples: If any man wants to follow me (be mine), let him deny (disown) himself, and take up his stake and follow me (Greek: akoloutheo moi, let him be following me) (accompany me) (be in the same way with me).

This is (represents) (means) (exemplifies) my blood of the covenant, poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.

We should write to them that they should abstain from things polluted by idols, from fornication, from things strangled and from blood.

In him we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.

This is so he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word.

For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving.
