3 (C)if the anointed priest sins so as to bring guilt on the people, then let him offer to the Lord a (b)bull without defect as a sin offering for the sin he has (c)committed.
3 “If the anointed priest(a)(B) sins, bringing guilt(C) on the people, he is to present to the Lord a young, unblemished(D) bull as a sin(b) offering(E) for the sin he has committed.
3 or if the anointed priest sins, thereby bringing guilt on the people, let him bring a young bull without defect as a sin offering to the LORD for his sin that he had committed.
4 And he shall bring the bullock unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD; and shall lay his hand upon the bullock's head, and kill the bullock before the LORD.
4 He shall bring the bull to the doorway of the tent of meeting before the Lord, and (D)he shall lay his hand on the head of the bull and slay the bull before the Lord.
4 He must bring the bull to the entrance to the tent of meeting before the Lord, lay his hand on the bull’s head, and slaughter it before the Lord.
4 "He is to bring the bull to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, into the LORD's presence, where he is to lay his hand on the head of the bull and slaughter it in the LORD's presence.
4 He shall bring the bull to the doorway of the Tent of Meeting before the Lord, and shall lay his hand on the bull’s head [transferring symbolically his guilt to the sacrifice] and kill the bull before the Lord.
5 And the priest that is anointed shall take of the bullock's blood, and bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation:
5 Then the (E)anointed priest is to take some of the blood of the bull and bring it to the tent of meeting,
5 The anointed priest must then take some of the bull’s blood and bring it into the tent of meeting.
5 The anointed priest is to take blood from the bull to the Tent of Meeting.

6 and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle some of the blood seven times before the Lord, in front of (F)the veil of the sanctuary.

7 "The priest is then to put some blood on the horn of the altar that is near the Tent of Meeting as an incense of pleasing aroma in the LORD's presence. He is to pour the rest of the bull's blood for a burnt offering at the base of the altar that is at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
7 The priest shall also put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense which is before the Lord in the Tent of Meeting. All the rest of the blood of the bull he shall pour out at the base of the altar of the burnt offering which is at the doorway of the Tent of Meeting.
8 And he shall take off from it all the fat of the bullock for the sin offering; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
8 (H)He shall remove from it all the fat of the bull of the sin offering: the fat that covers the entrails, and all the fat which is on the entrails,
8 He is to remove all the fat from the bull of the sin offering: the fat surrounding the entrails, all the fat that is on the entrails,
8 Then he is to remove all the fat from the bull for a sin offering that is, the fat that covers the internal organs, all of the fat that is inside the internal organs,
8 He shall remove all the fat from the bull of the sin offering—the fat that covers the entrails, and all the fat which is on the entrails,
9 And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away,
9 and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and the (d)lobe of the liver, which he shall remove (I)with the kidneys
9 and the two kidneys with the fat on them at the loins. He will also remove the fatty lobe of the liver with the kidneys,
9 the two kidneys with the fat on them by the loins, and the fatty mass surrounding the liver and kidneys
9 and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them at the loins, and the lobe of the liver, which he shall remove with the kidneys
10 As it was taken off from the bullock of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of the burnt offering.
10 (just as it is removed from the ox of the sacrifice of peace offerings), and the priest is to offer them up in smoke on the altar of burnt offering.
10 just as the fat is removed from the ox of the fellowship sacrifice.(K) The priest is to burn them on the altar of burnt offering.
10 just as it is taken from the bull for a peace offering. Then the priest is to burn it on the altar for burnt offerings.
10 (just as these are removed from the ox of the sacrifice of peace offerings), and the priest is to offer them up in smoke on the altar of burnt offering.
11 And the skin of the bullock, and all his flesh, with his head, and with his legs, and his inwards, and his dung,
11 But (J)the hide of the bull and all its flesh with its head and its legs and its entrails and its refuse,
11 But the hide(L) of the bull and all its flesh, with its head and shanks, and its entrails and dung—
11 "Now as for the bull's hide, its flesh, its head, its legs, its internal organs, and its dung,
11 But the hide of the bull and all its meat, with its head, its legs, its entrails, and its refuse,
12 Even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn him on the wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall he be burnt.
12 (e)that is, all the rest of the bull, he is to bring out to (K)a clean place outside the camp where the (f)ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire; where the (g)ashes are poured out it shall be burned.
12 all the rest of the bull—he must bring to a ceremonially clean place(M) outside the camp(N) to the ash heap, and must burn it on a wood fire. It is to be burned at the ash heap.
12 along with the rest of the bull, he is to bring it outside the camp to a clean place, where fat ashes are to be poured over it and then it is to be thoroughly burned over wood with fire. It is to be burned where the fat ashes are poured out."

13 ‘(L)Now if the whole congregation of Israel commits error and the matter (h)escapes the notice of the assembly, and they commit any of the (i)things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, and they become guilty;
13 “Now if the whole community of Israel(O) errs,(P) and the matter escapes the notice of the assembly,(Q) so that they violate any of the Lord’s commands and incur guilt(R) by doing what is prohibited,
13 "If the whole congregation of Israel goes astray, and if the sin is hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and if they go astray from one of the LORD's commands that should not be violated, then they will stand guilty.
13 ‘Now if the whole congregation of Israel sins unintentionally, and the matter escapes the notice of the assembly, and they have done any one of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, and they become guilty;
14 When the sin, which they have sinned against it, is known, then the congregation shall offer a young bullock for the sin, and bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation.
14 (M)when the sin (j)which they have (k)committed becomes known, then the assembly shall offer (N)a (l)bull of the herd for a sin offering and bring it before the tent of meeting.
14 then the assembly must present a young bull as a sin offering. When the sin they have committed in regard to the command becomes known, they are to bring it before the tent of meeting.

14 when the sin which they have committed becomes known, then the congregation shall offer a young bull of the herd as a sin offering and bring it before the Tent of Meeting.

15 where the elders of the community are to lay their hands on the head of the bull in the LORD's presence and slaughter it.
15 Then the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the bull before the Lord [to transfer symbolically the congregation’s guilt to the sacrifice], and they shall kill the bull before the Lord.
16 And the priest that is anointed shall bring of the bullock's blood to the tabernacle of the congregation:
16 Then the anointed priest is to bring some of the blood of the bull to the tent of meeting;

17 and (Q)the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before the Lord, in front of the veil.
17 The priest is to dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before the Lord in front of the veil.
17 Then the priest is to dip his finger in the blood, sprinkle some of the blood seven times in front of the curtain in the LORD's presence,
17 and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before the Lord, in front of the veil [which screens off the Holy of Holies and the ark of the covenant].
18 And he shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar which is before the LORD, that is in the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall pour out all the blood at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
18 He shall put some of the blood on the horns of (R)the altar which is before the Lord (m)in the tent of meeting; and all the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering which is at the doorway of the tent of meeting.
18 He is to apply some of the blood to the horns of the altar that is before the Lord in the tent of meeting. He must pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering that is at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
18 then put blood on the horn of the altar near the Tent of Meeting in the LORD's presence. He is to pour the rest of the blood as a burnt offering at the base of the altar that is at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
18 He shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar [of incense] which is before the Lord in the Tent of Meeting; and he shall pour out all the rest of the blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering which is at the doorway of the Tent of Meeting.
19 And he shall take all his fat from him, and burn it upon the altar.
19 He is to remove all the fat from it and burn it on the altar.
19 Then he is to remove all the fat from the bull for a sin offering and burn it on the altar.
19 He shall remove all its fat from the bull and offer it up in smoke on the altar.
20 And he shall do with the bullock as he did with the bullock for a sin offering, so shall he do with this: and the priest shall make an atonement for them, and it shall be forgiven them.
20 He shall also do with the bull just as he did with (T)the bull of the sin offering; thus he shall do with it. So (U)the priest shall make atonement for them, and they will be forgiven.
20 He is to offer this bull just as he did with the bull in the sin offering; he will offer it the same way. So the priest will make atonement(T) on their behalf, and they will be forgiven.(U)
20 He is to do to this bull what he did to the bull for the sin offering. He is to do it this way so that the priest will make atonement for them and they will be forgiven.
20 He shall also do with the bull just as he did with the bull of the sin offering; that is what he shall do with this. So the priest shall make atonement for [the sin of] the people, and they will be forgiven.
21 And he shall carry forth the bullock without the camp, and burn him as he burned the first bullock: it is a sin offering for the congregation.
21 Then he is to bring out the bull to a place outside the camp and burn it as he burned the first bull; it is (V)the sin offering for the assembly.
21 Then he will bring the bull outside the camp(V) and burn it just as he burned the first bull. It is the sin offering for the assembly.
21 Then he is to bring the rest of the bull outside the camp and burn it just as he had burned the first bull. This is the sin offering for the congregation."
