Others tested him demanding a sign from heaven.

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying: Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.

The Pharisees and Sadducees tested Jesus by asking him to show them a sign from heaven.

The Pharisees came to question him. They were testing him and seeking a sign from heaven.

They asked: What do you offer for a sign (miracle) that we may see and believe you? What work will you do?

Indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom.
