Thou knowest the commandments: Thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness; Honour thy father, and thy mother."

For these commandments: Thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness, thou shalt not desire, and so forth: if there be any other commandment, they are all comprehended in this saying, "Love thine neighbor as thyself."

"Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

'Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee: that thou mayest prolong thy days, and that it may go well with thee on the land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

If any man want light, let him look upon the law and the testimony whether they speak not after this meaning.

He said unto him, "Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, and that is, God: But if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments."

Jesus said to him, "Why callest thou me good? There is no man good but one, which is God.

He said unto him, "What is written in the law? How readest thou?"

because that by the deeds of the law, shall no flesh be justified in the sight of God. For by the law cometh the knowledge of sin.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid: but I knew not what sin meant but by the law. For I had not known what lust had meant, except the law had said, "Thou shalt not lust."

For as many as are under the deeds of the law, are under malediction. For it is written, "Cursed is every man that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to fulfil them."

"Honour thy father and mother," that is the first commandment that hath any promise,

Children, obey your fathers and mothers, in all things, for that is well pleasing unto the Lord.

If ye fulfil the royal law - according to the scripture which saith, "Thou shalt love thine neighbour as thyself" - ye do well.
