And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.

The Pharisee took his stand

and was praying like this: ‘God, I thank You that I’m not like other people —greedy, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

I tell you, in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous people who don’t need repentance.

“I have kept all these,” the young man told Him. “What do I still lack?”

He said to Him, “Teacher, I have kept all these from my youth.”

I can testify about them that they have zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.

regarding zeal, persecuting the church; regarding the righteousness that is in the law, blameless.
