For if the eagerness [to give] is there, it is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.
And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
Matthew 13:23 And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands and grasps it; he indeed bears fruit and yields, some a hundred times [as much as was sown], some sixty [times as much], and some thirty.”
Mark 4:20 And those [in the last group] are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word [of God, the good news regarding the way of salvation] and accept it and bear fruit—thirty, sixty, and a hundred times as much [as was sown].”
