Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

So He said to them, "Take nothing with you for your journey, no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, nor even have two shirts.

Do not carry a purse, a bag, or shoes, and do not stop to say 'Good morning' to anybody on the road.

Do not accept gold or silver or even copper money for your purse,

He ordered them not to take anything for the journey except a staff, no bread, no bag, no money in the purse;

So you must stop seeking what to eat and what to drink, and must stop being in suspense about these things.

So never worry and say, 'What are we going to have to eat? What are we going to have to drink? What are we going to have to wear?'

just as the Scripture says, "The man who gathered much did not have too much, and the man who gathered little did not have too little."
