Now at festival time the governor was accustomed to release for the people any prisoner whom they chose,

Now at festival time he used to set free for them one prisoner, whom they petitioned for.

But it is your custom to have me release one man for you at Passover time. Do you want me therefore to release the king of the Jews for you?"
