And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required.

Then he released Barabbas unto them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.

Then Pilate, therefore, took Jesus and scourged him.

Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause hiding behind many to wrest judgment;

He that justifies the wicked and he that condemns the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.

If thou forbear to deliver those that are drawn unto death and those that are ready to be slain,

So that then, he delivered him unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus and led him away.

And without finding cause of death in him, yet they asked Pilate that he should be slain.
