Luke 3:15

As the people were in a doubt, and all men disputed in their hearts of John: Whether he were very Christ;

And this is the record of John: When the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem, to ask him, "What art thou?"

Ye yourselves are witnesses, how that I said, 'I am not Christ: but am sent before him.'

Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, "How long dost thou make us doubt? If thou be Christ, tell us plainly."

And he confessed, and denied not, and said plainly, "I am not Christ."
