And he said to the vinedresser, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig-tree and find none: cut it down; why does it also render the ground useless?

for behold, days are coming in which they will say, Blessed are the barren, and wombs that have not borne, and breasts that have not given suck.

Behold the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, shall lop the boughs with violence; and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be brought low;

Son of man, what is the wood of the vine more than any wood, the vine-branch, which is among the trees of the forest?

To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? Yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden, unto the lower parts of the earth; thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with them that are slain by the sword. he cried aloud, and said thus: Hew down the tree, and cut off its branches, shake off its leaves, and scatter its fruit; let the beasts get away from under it, and the birds from its branches.

And already the axe is applied to the root of the trees; every tree therefore not producing good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.

Every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.

Unless any one abide in me he is cast out as the branch, and is dried up; and they gather them and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Any one that has disregarded Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses:

For also our God is a consuming fire.
