Then they began to laugh in His face, for they knew that she was dead.

Pilate wondered whether He was dead yet, and calling the captain to him asked whether He was already dead;

Now the Pharisees who were lovers of money had been listening to all this, and they began to ridicule Him.

Jesus said, "Slip the stone aside." The dead man's sister, Martha, said to Him, "Lord, by this time he is offensive, for he has been dead four days."

But when they came to Jesus, as they saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs,
