Jesus said unto him, "Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests: but the son of man hath not whereon to lay his head."

But Joshua said unto the people, "Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is a holy God and cannot bear your transgression and sin.

For the sparrow hath found her a house, and the swallow a nest, where she may lay her young; even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.

And Jesus said unto him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the son of the man hath not whereon to rest his head."

"If a man come to me, and hate not his father and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, moreover and his own life, he cannot be my disciple.

When Jesus heard that, he said unto him, "Yet lackest thou one thing. Sell all that thou hast, and distribute it unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, and follow me."

Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, "This is a hard saying; Who can abide the hearing of it?"

Ye know the liberality of our Lord Jesus Christ, which though he were rich, yet for your sakes became poor: that ye through his poverty might be made rich.

Hearken, my dear beloved brethren, hath not God chosen the poor of this world, which are rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom, which he promised to them that love him?
