And as Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax-office. And He said to him, Follow Me! And he arose and followed Him.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.

And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, Please, let me kiss my father and my mother, and I will follow you. And he said to him, Go back again, for what have I done to you?

So says Jehovah of Hosts, saying: This people says, The time has not come, the time that Jehovah's house should be built.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.

And another of His disciples said to him, Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.
