2 Corinthians 8:1
And we make known to you, brethren, the grace of God which has been bestowed in the assemblies of Macedonia;
And, evening having already come, since it was the Preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,
And, the sabbath having past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, that, coming, they might anoint Him.
And, taking it down, he wrapped it in fine linen, and placed Him in a tomb, hewn in a stone, where no one was yet laid.
But, on the first day of the sabbaths, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they prepared.
Jesus, therefore, said, "Suffer her to keep it for the day of My burial;
The soldiers, therefore, came, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who was crucified with Him;
For she, in pouring this ointment upon My body, did it with reference to My burial.
