A Man With A Withered Hand Healed

1 And he went again into the Synagogue; and there was a man there whose hand was dead.

1 (A)He (B)entered again into a synagogue; and a man was there whose hand was withered.

1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.

1 Now(A) He entered the synagogue(B) again, and a man was there who had a paralyzed(C) hand.

1 Jesus went into the synagogue again, and a man with a paralyzed hand was there.

2 And they were watching him to see if he would make him well on the Sabbath day, so that they might have something against him.

2 (C)They were watching Him to see if He would heal him on the Sabbath, (D)so that they might accuse Him.

2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.

2 In order to accuse(D) Him, they were watching Him closely(E) to see whether He would heal(F) him on the Sabbath.(G)

2 The people watched Jesus closely to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath, intending to accuse him of doing something wrong.

3 And he said to the man, Get up and come forward.

3 He *said to the man with the withered hand, (a)Get up and come forward!”

3 And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.

3 He told the man with the paralyzed hand, “Stand before us.”(a)

3 He told the man with the paralyzed hand, "Come forward."

4 And he said to them, Is it right to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil? to give life or to put to death? But they said nothing.

4 And He *said to them, “Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to kill?” But they kept silent.

4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

4 Then He said to them, “Is it lawful(H) on the Sabbath to do what is good(I) or to do what is evil,(J) to save life(K) or to kill?”(L) But they were silent.(M)

4 Then he asked them, "Is it lawful to do good or to do evil on Sabbath days, to save a life or to destroy it?" But they remained silent.

5 And looking round on them he was angry, being sad because of their hard hearts; and he said to the man, Put out your hand. And he put it out, and his hand was made well.

5 After (E)looking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He *said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

5 After looking around at them with anger(N) and sorrow at the hardness(O) of their hearts, He told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.(P)

5 Jesus looked around at them in anger, deeply hurt because of their hard hearts. Then he told the man, "Hold out your hand." The man held it out, and his hand was restored to health.

6 And the Pharisees went out, and straight away made designs with the Herodians about how they might put him to death.

6 The Pharisees went out and immediately began (b)conspiring with the (F)Herodians against Him, as to how they might destroy Him.

6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

6 Immediately the Pharisees(Q) went out and started plotting(R) with the Herodians(S) against Him, how they might destroy(T) Him.

6 Immediately the Pharisees and Herodians went out and began to plot how to kill him.

Jesus Heals Crowds By The Sea

7 And Jesus went away with his disciples to the sea, and a great number from Galilee came after him: and from Judaea,

7 (G)Jesus withdrew to the sea with His disciples; and (H)a great multitude from Galilee followed; and also from Judea,

7 But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,

7 Jesus(U) departed with His disciples to the sea, and a large crowd followed from Galilee,(V) Judea,(W)

7 So Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea. A large crowd from Galilee, Judea,

8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and the other side of Jordan, and the country about Tyre and Sidon, a great number, hearing what great things he did, came to him.

8 and from Jerusalem, and from (I)Idumea, and beyond the Jordan, and the vicinity of (J)Tyre and Sidon, a great number of people heard of all that He was doing and came to Him.

8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.

8 Jerusalem,(X) Idumea, beyond the Jordan,(Y) and around Tyre(Z) and Sidon.(AA) The large crowd came to Him because they heard about everything He was doing.

8 Jerusalem, Idumea, from across the Jordan, and from the region around Tyre and Sidon followed him. They came to him because they kept hearing about everything he was doing.

9 And he made a request to his disciples to have a little boat ready for him, so that he might not be crushed by the people;

9 (K)And He told His disciples that a boat should stand ready for Him because of the crowd, so that they would not crowd Him;

9 And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.

9 Then He told His disciples to have a small boat(AB) ready for Him, so the crowd would not crush Him.

9 Jesus told his disciples to have a boat ready for him so that the crowd wouldn't crush him,

10 For he had made such a great number well that all those who were diseased were falling down before him for the purpose of touching him.

10 for He had (L)healed many, with the result that all those who had (M)afflictions pressed around Him in order to (N)touch Him.

10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.

10 Since He had healed(AC) many, all who had diseases were pressing toward Him to touch(AD) Him.

10 because he had healed so many people that everyone who had diseases kept crowding up against him in order to touch him.

11 And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, went down before him, crying out, and saying, You are the Son of God.

11 Whenever the unclean spirits saw Him, they would fall down before Him and shout, “You are (O)the Son of God!”

11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

11 Whenever the unclean(AE) spirits(AF) saw Him, those possessed fell down(AG) before Him and cried out, “You are the Son of God!”(AH)

11 Whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they would fall down in front of him and scream, "You are the Son of God!"

12 And he gave them special orders not to say who he was.

12 And He (P)earnestly warned them not to (c)tell who He was.

12 And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.

12 And He would strongly warn(AI) them not to make Him known.(AJ)

12 But he sternly ordered them again and again not to tell people who he was.

The Selection Of The Twelve Apostles

13 And he went up into the mountain, and sent for those whom it was his pleasure to have with him: and they went to him.

13 And He *went up on (Q)the mountain and *(R)summoned those whom He Himself wanted, and they came to Him.

13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.

13 Then(AK) He went up the mountain(AL) and summoned those He wanted, and they came to Him.

13 Then Jesus went up on a hillside and called to himself those whom he had decided on, and they approached him.

14 And he took twelve to be with him, so that he might send them out as preachers,

14 And He appointed twelve, so that they would be with Him and that He could send them out to preach,

15 and to have authority to(c) drive out demons.

15 and to have the authority to drive out demons.

17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:

19 and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

A House Divided Cannot Stand

20 And he went into a house. And the people came together again, so that they were not even able to take bread.

20 And He *came (h)(T)home, and the (U)crowd *gathered again, (V)to such an extent that they could not even eat (i)a meal.

20 And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.

20 Then He went home, and the crowd gathered again so that they were not even able to eat.(g)

20 Then he went home. Such a large crowd gathered again that Jesus and his disciples couldn't even eat.

21 And when his friends had news of it, they went out to get him, saying, He is off his head.

21 When (W)His own (j)people heard of this, they went out to take custody of Him; for they were saying, “(X)He has lost His senses.”

21 And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.

21 When His family(BA) heard this, they set out to restrain Him, because they said, “He’s out of His mind.”(BB)

21 When his family heard about it, they went to restrain him, because they kept saying, "He's out of his mind!"

22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem, said, He has Beelzebub, and, By the ruler of evil spirits he sends evil spirits out of men.

22 The scribes who came down (Y)from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by (k)(Z)Beelzebul,” and “(AA)He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.”

22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.

22 The scribes(BC) who had come down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebul(BD) in Him!” and, “He drives out(BE) demons(BF) by the ruler(BG) of the demons!”(BH)

22 The scribes who had come down from Jerusalem kept repeating, "He has Beelzebul," and, "He drives out demons by the ruler of demons."

23 And turning to them, he said to them in the form of a story, How is it possible for Satan to put out Satan?

23 (AB)And He called them to Himself and began speaking to them in (AC)parables, “How can (AD)Satan cast out Satan?

23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?

23 So He summoned(BI) them and spoke to them in parables:(BJ) “How can Satan(BK) drive out Satan?(BL)

23 So Jesus called them together and began to speak to them in parables. "How can Satan drive out Satan?

24 If there is division in a kingdom, that kingdom will come to destruction;

24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

24 If a kingdom(BM) is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25 And if there is division in a house, that house will come to destruction;

25 If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.

25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

25 And if a household is divided against itself, that household won't stand.

26 And if Satan is at war with himself, and there is division in him, he will not keep his place but will come to an end.

26 If (AE)Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but (l)he is finished!

26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.

26 And if Satan rebels against himself and is divided, he cannot stand but is finished!(h)

26 So if Satan rebels against himself and is divided, he cannot stand. Indeed, his end has come.

27 But no one is able to go into the house of the strong man and take his goods, without first putting cords round the strong man, and then he will take his goods.

27 (AF)But no one can enter the strong man’s house and plunder his property unless he first binds the strong man, and then he will plunder his house.

27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

27 “On the other hand, no one can enter a strong man’s house and rob his possessions unless he first ties up(BN) the strong man. Then he will rob his house.

27 No one can go into a strong man's house and carry off his possessions without first tying up the strong man. Then he can ransack his house.

28 Truly, I say to you, The sons of men will have forgiveness for all their sins and for all the evil words they say:

28 (AG)Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter;

28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

28 I assure you: People will be forgiven for all sins(i) and whatever blasphemies(BO) they may blaspheme.

28 I tell all of you with certainty, people will be forgiven their sins and whatever blasphemies they utter.

29 But whoever says evil things against the Holy Spirit will never have forgiveness, but the evil he has done will be with him for ever:

29 but (AH)whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”

29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:

29 But whoever blasphemes(BP) against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness,(BQ) but is guilty(BR) of an eternal sin”(j)(BS)

29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit can never be forgiven, but is guilty of eternal sin."

30 Because they said, He has an unclean spirit.

30 because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”

30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

30 because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”(BT)

30 "because they had been saying, "He has an unclean spirit."

31 And his mother and brothers came and were outside, and sent for him, requesting to see him.

32 A crowd was sitting around him. They told him, "Look! Your mother and your brothers are outside asking for you."

33 And he said in answer, Who are my mother and my brothers?

33 Answering them, He *said, “Who are My mother and My brothers?”

33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?

33 He replied to them, “Who are My mother and My brothers?”

33 He answered them, "Who are my mother and my brothers?"

34 And looking round at those who were seated about him, he said, See, my mother and my brothers!

34 Looking about at those who were sitting around Him, He *said, (AJ)Behold My mother and My brothers!

34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

34 And looking about at those who were sitting in a circle around Him, He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!(BY)

34 Then looking at the people sitting around him, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers!

35 Whoever does God's pleasure, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

35 For whoever (AK)does the will of God, he is My brother and sister and mother.”

35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

35 Whoever does the will of God(BZ) is My brother and sister and mother.”

35 Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother."
