He entered the house and asked them, "Why all this confusion and crying? The child isn't dead. She's sleeping."

But Paul went down, bent over him, took him into his arms, and said, "Stop being alarmed, because he's still alive."

Many of those who are sleeping in the dust of the earth will awaken some to life everlasting, and some to disgrace and everlasting contempt.

These were the things he said. Then after this, he told them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I'm leaving to wake him up."

That's why so many of you are weak and sick and a considerable number are dying.

But we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, about those who have died, so that you may not grieve like other people who have no hope.

who died for us in order that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.
