Then Yahweh saw that great, was the wickedness of man in the earth, and that, every purpose of the devices of his heart, was only wicked all the day;
And Yahweh smelled a satisfying odour, so Yahweh said to himself. I will not, again, curse any more the ground for man's sake, although the device of the heart of man, be wicked from his youth, - neither will I again, any more smite every living thing, as I have done.
Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one!
What is a mortal, that he should be pure? or that righteous should be one born of a woman?
How then shall, a mortal, be just with GOD? Or how shall he be pure who is born of a woman?
The impious hath said in his heart - There is no God! They have acted corruptly, they have done an abominable deed, there is none that doeth good.
The impious hath said in his heart, There is no God! They have acted corruptly, They have wrought abominable perversity, There is none that doeth good: -
Aye! ye all do work, perversity, - Throughout the land, your hands, weigh out, violence!
Above all that must be guarded, keep thou thy heart, for, out of it, are the issues of life.
Wash from wickedness thy heart, O Jerusalem, That thou mayest be saved, - How long, shall lodge within thee thy wicked devices?
Deceitful is the heart above all things And, dangerously wayward, - Who can know it?
For, out of the heart, come forth wicked designs, - murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, profane speakings:
Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because ye cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, - while, within, they are full of plunder and intemperance.
And he said unto them - Ye, are they who justify themselves before men, but, God, knoweth your hearts; because, that which amongst men is lofty, is an abomination before God.
While it remained, was it not, as thine own, it remained? and, when sold, was it not, in thine own authority, that it still continued? Why was it that thou didst contrive in thy heart this deed? Thou hast not dealt falsely with men but, with God.
Repent, therefore, from this thy baseness, and entreat of the Lord - whether, after all, the purpose of thy heart shall be forgiven thee;
For, when we were in the flesh, the susceptibilities of sins which were through the law, used to be energized in our members unto the bringing forth of fruit unto death;
Inasmuch as, what is preferred by the flesh, is hostile towards God, for, unto the law of God, it doth not submit itself, neither in fact can it. -
Manifest, however, are the works of the flesh, which, indeed, are - fornication, impurity, wantonness,
For, even we, used, at one time, to be - thoughtless, unyielding, deceived, in servitude unto manifold covetings and pleasures, in malice and envy, leading on, detestable, hating one another.
But, each one, is tempted, when, by his own coveting, he is drawn out and enticed,
Whence wars and whence fightings among you? are they not from hence - due to your pleasures which are taking the field in your members?
To the end that, no longer, in men's covetings, but in God's will, ye may live, the still remaining time.
