Persecution Of Disciples Predicted

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves. Become ye therefore wise as serpents, and innocent as doves. ¹⁷ But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues, ¹⁸ and ye will be brought to governors and even kings because of me, for a witness to them and to the Gentiles.
