Matthew 14:26

And the disciples saw him walking on the sea, and they were terrified and said, "It is a ghost!" And they screamed with fear.

They were startled and panic-stricken, and thought they saw a ghost.

They saw him walking on the sea, and thought it was a ghost and screamed aloud,

And an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right of the altar of incense.

The women were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look among the dead for him who is alive?

Then he opened their minds to the understanding of the Scriptures,

But they said to her, "You are crazy!" But she insisted that it was so. Then they said, "Then it is his guardian angel!"

When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. But he laid his right hand upon me, and said, "Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last,
