In vain they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.'

by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.
But are you willing to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is useless?

nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than the divine trainingwhich is by faith.

Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith by giving heed to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,
and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the commands of men who reject the truth.
Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited.
I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book,

if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and so is your faith.
