Then why did you go out there? Was it to see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and far more than a prophet!

Likewise

It was then that Jesus Christ for the first time explained to his disciples that he had to go to Jerusalem and endure great suffering there at the hands of the elders, high priests, and scribes, and be killed, and be raised to life on the third day.

But he warned them particularly not to tell this to anyone,

But you, by the fixed purpose and intention of God, handed him over to wicked men, and had him crucified.

But you disowned the Holy, Righteous One. You asked to have a murderer released for you,

you and the people of Israel must all know that it is through the power of Jesus Christ of Nazareth whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that he stands here before you well.
