For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, and whoever, for my sake, loses his life shall find it.

"I tell you," said Jesus, "there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or land, on my account and on account of the Good News,

It is what Scripture speaks of as-'What eye never saw, nor ear ever heard, what never entered the mind of man-even all that God has prepared for those who love him.'

He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

For ourselves, then, from this time forward, we refuse to regard any one from the world's standpoint. Even if we once thought of Christ from the standpoint of the world, yet now we do so no longer.

Blessed are you when people taunt you, and persecute you, and say everything evil about you--untruly, and on my account.

If you are reviled for bearing the name of Christ, count yourselves blessed; because the divine Glory and the Spirit of God are resting upon you.

For it was on behalf of the Name that they left their homes, and refused to take anything from the Gentiles.
