For ye

who devour widows houses, and for a pretence make long prayers. These will receive a far greater condemnation.

For of these are they who creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away by divers lusts,

For there are many unruly vain talkers and deceivers, especially they of the circumcision;

having eyes full of an adulteress, and that cannot cease from sin, alluring unstable souls, having a heart exercised in covetousness, children of a curse,

Serpents, brood of vipers! how can ye escape the punishment of hell?

and in covetousness will they with feigned words make merchandise of you; for whom the judgment long ago ordained lingereth not, and their destruction slumbereth not.
