But the Lord said to Moses, “If her father had but spit in her face, would she not bear her shame for seven days? Let her be shut up for seven days outside the camp, and afterward she may be received again.”

then his brother’s wife shall come to him in the sight of the elders, and pull his sandal off his foot and spit in his face; and she shall declare, ‘Thus it is done to the man who does not build up his brother’s house.’

Some began to spit at Him, and

to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with their fists, and to say to Him, “Prophesy!” And the officers received Him with slaps in the face.

They kept beating His head with a reed, and spitting on Him, and kneeling and bowing before Him.

when we are slandered, we try to conciliate; we have become as the scum of the world, the dregs of all things, even until now.

author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.

The high priest Ananias commanded those standing beside him to strike him on the mouth.

For you tolerate it if anyone enslaves you, anyone devours you, anyone takes advantage of you, anyone exalts himself, anyone hits you in the face.
