Matthew 27:18

Barabbas, or Jesus, who is called Christ? for he knew that out of envy they had delivered Him up.

(for he knew that the chief priests had delivered Him up to him out of envy:)

Then the high priest rose up, and all that were with him, (being of the sect of the sadducees,) and were filled with rage:

And the patriarchs, envying him, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,

But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, opposing and reviling him.

Do ye think the scripture speaks in vain? or does the Spirit that dwelleth in us, excite to envy?
