Matthew 27:42

Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

So a second time they summoned the man who had been blind and told him, “Give glory to God.

We know that this man is a sinner!”

If anyone hears My words and doesn’t keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.

And since they saw the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say in response.

Above His head they put up the charge against Him in writing:

THIS IS JESUS

THE KING OF THE JEWS.

saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east

and have come to worship Him.”

The King

who comes

in the name of the Lord

is the blessed One.
Peace in heaven
and glory in the highest heaven!

“Rabbi,” Nathanael replied, “You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”

When a wicked man comes, contempt also does,
and along with dishonor, disgrace.

I am a laughingstock to all my people,
mocked by their songs all day long.

Let us then go to Him outside the camp, bearing His disgrace.
