Many also of the old priests and Levites and ancient fathers which had seen the first house - when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes - wept with a loud voice. And many shouted with joy,

Serve the LORD in fear, and rejoice unto him in reverence.

And they went out quickly and fled from the sepulchre. For they trembled, and were amazed. Neither said they anything to any man, for they were afraid.

As they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and said unto them, "Peace be with you."

Verily, verily I say unto you, Ye shall weep and lament, and the world shall rejoice. Ye shall sorrow: but your sorrow shall be turned to joy.

And when he had so said, he showed unto them his hands and feet, and his side. Then were the disciples glad when they saw the Lord.
