John replied to all of them, "I'm baptizing you with water, but one is coming who is more powerful than I, and I'm not worthy to untie his sandal straps. It is he who will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

I didn't recognize him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, "The person on whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.'

Suddenly, a sound like the roar of a mighty windstorm came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.

"When I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as he was first given to us.

For by one Spirit all of us Jews and Greeks, slaves and free were baptized into one body and were all privileged to drink from one Spirit.

Indeed, all of you who were baptized into the Messiah have clothed yourselves with the Messiah.
