The voice of him who cries in the wilderness, Prepare the way of Jehovah, make straight a highway in the desert for our God.

The voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight."

And he came into all the country around Jordan, proclaiming the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins,

He said, I am "the voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord," as the prophet Isaiah said.

Prepare

And He shall say, Raise up! Raise up! Clear the way! Make the stumbling-block rise out of the way of My people.

Behold, I will send My messenger, and He will clear the way before Me. And Jehovah, whom you seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Angel of the Covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He comes, says Jehovah of Hosts.

And he shall go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
