But when you pray, go into your private room, shut your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

You have tested my heart;
You have examined me at night.
You have tried me and found nothing evil;
I have determined that my mouth will not sin.

wouldn’t God have found this out,
since He knows the secrets of the heart?

For the choir director. A Davidic psalm.Lord, You have searched me and known me.

I, Yahweh, examine the mind,
I test the heart

to give to each according to his way,
according to what his actions deserve.

Can a man hide himself in secret places where I cannot see him?”—the Lord’s declaration. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?”—the Lord’s declaration.

No creature is hidden from Him, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give an account.

I will kill her children with the plague.

Then all the churches will know that I am the One who examines minds and hearts, and I will give to each of you according to your works.

Reward

And whoever gives just a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple

—I assure you: He will never lose his reward!”

Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

“Therefore, this is the declaration of the Lord, the God of Israel:

‘Although I said
your family and your ancestral house
would walk before Me forever,
the Lord now says, “No longer!”
I will honor those who honor Me,
but those who despise Me will be disgraced.

For nothing is concealed that won’t be revealed, and nothing hidden that won’t be made known and come to light.

And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

Therefore don’t judge anything prematurely, before the Lord comes, who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God.

Now to Him who is able to protect you from stumbling and to make you stand in the presence of His glory, blameless and with great joy,
