And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.

Suddenly they shouted, “What do You have to do with us,

Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?”

But now, why should we die? This great fire will consume us and we will die if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any longer.

Samuel did what the Lord directed and went to Bethlehem. When the elders of the town met him, they trembled and asked, “Do you come in peace?”

She said to Elijah, “Man of God, what do we have in common? Have you come to remind me of my guilt and to kill my son?”

When Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, “Is that you, you destroyer of Israel?”

Yet they say to God: “Leave us alone!
We don’t want to know Your ways.

They were the ones who said to God, “Leave us alone!”
and “What can the Almighty do to us?”

Then they began to beg Him to leave their region.

When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, because I’m a sinful man, Lord!”

When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before Him, and said in a loud voice, “What do You have to do with me,

Jesus, You Son of the Most High God? I beg You, don’t torment me!”

So they came and apologized to them, and escorting them out, they urged them to leave town.

Then they began to beg Him to leave their region.
