And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us through thy name.
Behold, I give you the power of treading upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall in anywise injure you.
And having called to him his twelve disciples, he gave them power over unclean spirits, so that they should cast them out, and heal every disease and every bodily weakness.
and heal the sick in it, and say to them, The kingdom of God is come nigh to you.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave to them to speak forth.
Heal the infirm, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons: ye have received gratuitously, give gratuitously.
Now after these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place where he himself was about to come.
And these signs shall follow those that have believed: in my name they shall cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they should drink any deadly thing it shall not injure them; they shall lay hands upon the infirm, and they shall be well.
While Peter was yet speaking these words the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were hearing the word. And the faithful of the circumcision were astonished, as many as came with Peter, that upon the nations also the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out: for they heard them speaking with tongues and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,
And Paul having laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
