The seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name."
Behold, I have given you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall hurt you.
And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness.
Heal the sick there and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.'
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
After this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go.
And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover."
While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the message. All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. Then Peter said,
And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
